Workshop at Croydon Young Carers introducing the group to the Victorian designer Christopher Dresser and design and making activities. We had a button making emergency preparing for the workshop as no one could quite remember how the machine worked but we worked it out in time. Iqbal’s mum was a great button making wallah. The young people liked the idea of being designers. One of the young people asked ‘when was Queen Victoria alive?’ and another went online and said 1819!
